Regional World's Longest Lunch

Let your palate run wild with a taste of Gippsland

If you’re a lover of great food and wine, you will not want to miss out on this stellar event.  The Regional World’s Longest Lunch, as part of the Melbourne Food & Wine Festival, is coming to West Gippsland and we are thrilled to be hosting it right here at Lardner Park.

Bringing together three of the region’s finest chefs including Trevor Perkins from Hogget Kitchen, Mark Briggs from Sardine and Rob Turner from Northern Ground, the lunch will boast a menu curated and sourced with the finest Gippsland produce. 

Trevor Perkins from Hogget Kitchen in Warragul has a simple philosophy about food, he believes that ingredients should be allowed to ‘speak’ for themselves and creates all his dishes with that in mind, sourcing local and seasonal product from growers.  Hogget was recently awarded a Chefs Hat from the Australian Good Food & Travel Guide.

Mark Briggs is the Chef and Owner, alongside his partner Victoria, at Sardine Eatery + Bar in Paynesville, which brings you an extraordinary and ever-changing menu featuring Gippsland’s finest produce.  Mark was awarded The Age ‘Young Chef of the Year 2013’ and most recently a Chef’s Hat for 2019.

Rob Turner moved from the UK three years ago where he had a celebrated career and established ‘Northern Ground’ in Bairnsdale.  There is no pretence to his food, he doesn’t try and reinvent the wheel, he simply combines fresh, local produce and the best ingredients and makes them taste amazing!  Now open for dinner as well, his style is based on bistro/brasserie food, but in the European sense of the word.

Karla Thomas is a passionate chef who divides her time between working as a chef, running her own training restaurant and travelling the world.  Karla also manages the kitchen here at Lardner Park so will be working alongside the guys to bring you a magnificent culinary experience at the lunch.

Accompanied by local wines and beer, fabulous local musicians and picturesque views across the Lardner Park property, it’s time to gather your friends and family and come and celebrate the amazing food and drink the Gippsland region is renowned for.
