EVENTS, FOOD & FIBRE FESTIVAL AND WHAT'S NEW!Women in Agriculture LuncheonThursday 12th April 2018The Women in Agriculture lunch is a signature event at Farm World and provides the perfect platform to not only listen to some inspirational speakers but also to liaise and network with many other talented women.The BIG Gippsland Jersey Milk OFF2018 times - TBCIn 2017 we successfully introduced the BIG Gippsland Jersey Milk OFF to Farm World. The concept was simple… It’s a Hand Milking competition – One hand – One teat – One minute. The contestant who can extract the most milk within one minute wins the ‘Milk OFF’ trophy.We saw everyone from Councillors and media to baristas and school children fighting it out against their contemporaries for the glory of the Milk OFF trophy.Alongside the crowd-pleasing hilarity of the BIG Gippsland Jersey Milk OFF, there was also displays educating the crowd on the history of the dairy industry, and the contribution it makes to both the local economy and the Victorian milk supplies.See you again in 2018!Food and Fibre FiestaWhen: Saturday the 14th and Sunday the 15th of April 2018Where: Lardner Park Exhibition and Conference CentreFree workshops and demonstrations plus great shopping!The Lardner Park Conference Centre will be converted into a Food & Fibre Fiesta showcasing produce, products and information sessions in inspiring ways.The Food & Fibre Fiesta promises a festive ambience of exhibitor sales, demonstrations and workshops running free-of-charge throughout the weekend. The program of demonstrations and workshops will roll over throughout the day, so visitors can stop and listen as they wish.AgriKidzFree Presentations and WorkshopsFarm World will once again host Lardner Park’s AgriKidz program where teachers can register whole classes, or individual children can register with the consent of parents. Open to rural, peri-urban and metro children, the future program will focus on educational awareness and interaction surrounding agriculture and agribusinesses, with experiential visitation opportunities offering both in-person visits and virtual visits and presentations.Educational awareness throughout the year will include Growing Healthy – how much space do you need and how easy it is (cupboard mushrooms, veggie patches, window sill herbs etc); making and managing your own worm farm; paddock to processing to packaging to plate; farmers and cool technology; what’s the buzz with bees; sharing of content, quizzes and competitions.Experiential awareness will include invitations to Lardner Park Steer Trial Weigh-In’s; attending a demo day of farm machinery; alpacas and agri-tourism; food packaging and processing; talking with a food scientist; interviewing a cold store food truck driver – all through on-site visitations or AgriKidz YouTube uploads. At Farm World, take a visit to the Bunyip Beekeeper, see the animals of Oz at the Lion Dairy Animal Nursery, and sign up for AgriKidz!Animal NurseryWe are cute and cuddly, come and visit us!Farm World in 2018 will be in the school holidays, so why not bring the kids down to the Animal Nursery! There’s cuteness galore and plenty of education as well as volunteers to help your kids get up close and pet with the animals. Babies are a plenty with puppies, goat kids, piglets, guinea pigs, ducklings and maybe even a few cute kittens.So head on down and say hi to the folks running the Animal Nursery – Jill, Barry, and Joe and all the fantastic student volunteers from Warragul Regional College.Book your tickets online!No more waiting at the gates!These days data-is-king, and Lardner Park has moved forward to introduce a new permanent ticketing system. Buy online and avoid purchase queues at the event, just head straight to the gate for scanning!All tickets have bar codes and QR codes, allowing them to be scanned only once a day, and you can either print off, or keep on your phone – just show for scanning and you are good to go!Your ticket to Farm World includes access to the Farm World Equestrian Expo.Rest Areas and HospitalityNeed a break - these are the areas for you!There is so much to see and do at Farm World and we appreciate that can make for long hours when you have excited children in tow! Or maybe you just want a quiet moment to yourself?Grassed areas have been reserved in front of the Conference & Exhibition Centre for a little rest and respite. Directly behind the main office building is another grassed rest area and a hospitality bar where adults are welcome to enjoy a cool beverage. A Hospitality Centre is also located for your enjoyment at the Farm World Equestrian Expo.Heritage Draught HorsesLocated at the Farm World Equestrian ExpoWe all love the beautiful heritage draught horses! They remind us of how it used to be and the importance they played in our agricultural evolution. Never to be forgotten.Come along to the Farm World Equestrian Expo and see these proud representatives of agricultural history.
